Installing ZipCombiner on Windows
The Windows version isn't code-signed yet, so Chrome and Windows warn you the first time. Here's how to get past both, step by step.
Install it in five steps
- Buy and download ZipCombiner for Windows from Gumroad. The download is the installer,
ZipCombiner-1.4-Setup.exe. - If Chrome shows Suspicious download blocked or This file may be dangerous, open the Downloads list (the down-arrow icon at the top right, or Ctrl+J), click the download and choose Download suspicious file or Keep. Edge works the same way: choose Keep from the download's menu.
- Run
ZipCombiner-1.4-Setup.exe. If it arrived inside a zip file, open the zip first. - If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
- Follow the installer. ZipCombiner appears in the Start menu; an earlier version is updated in place.
Why the warnings appear
Browsers and Windows warn about apps that aren't code-signed and haven't been downloaded by many people yet. ZipCombiner for Windows isn't code-signed yet; the warnings say nothing about what the app does. It runs entirely on your computer, needs no account and never connects to the internet to process your files.
Uninstalling
Open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find ZipCombiner and choose Uninstall.
Questions
Is it safe to click Run anyway?
For ZipCombiner bought from our Gumroad page, yes. The warning appears because the app isn't code-signed yet, not because of anything it does.
Which versions of Windows are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Chrome won't let me keep the file at all. What now?
Chrome's strictest protection setting can block it outright. Download the same link in Microsoft Edge or Firefox, which let you keep the file.
